Certified Peer Recovery Coaching

What is Certified Peer Recovery Coaching?

Certified Peer Recovery Coaches are individuals who have had personal, lived experience of recovery from substance use, mental health or co-occurring disorders and wish to provide recovery support to those seeking/in recovery from substance use and/or mental health concerns. In order to receive their certification, they received training and passed an evaluation from ICAADA.

Peer Recovery Coaching involves the process of giving and receiving
non‐clinical assistance to support long‐term recovery from addictive
disorders. A Peer Recovery Coach brings the lived experience of recovery,
combined with training and supervision, to assist others in initialing and
maintaining recovery, helping to enhance the quality of personal and family
life in long-term recovery
